The Hamm Seismograph is designed to detect structure-borne swings, akin to a seismometer used for monitoring earthquakes. In construction sites, these swings, resulting from the operation of heavy machinery, are a common occurrence. Particularly during soil or asphalt compaction, significant swings can pose a threat to nearby buildings.

The Hamm Seismograph provides a visual representation of the lower swing load during compaction with Oscillation, as opposed to mere vibration.
